35 high school girls captivate the audience with their illusion dance

Don’t confuse them with cheerleaders. While it is a football game and they are dressed brightly, these ladies are members of the drill dance squad. There is a distinction. Particularly in Texas.

Count your blessings. That’s 35 women with white hats and boots. That doesn’t include the men in the rear.

It’s halfway through the game! It’s showtime!
Someone must ensure that the school and its supporters stay engaged. Go ahead and get food and other necessities; the drill dancing squad will keep the enthusiasm up. In most situations, it is even raised!

Have a peek at how they make their entry! The ladies march with military precision to the rhythm of a drum. If the goal was to get all those eyes on the field, they succeeded admirably.

That’s a lot of men and women on the field!
The school colors are out, the girls have gathered, and the band is ready to go. They form their ranks and gather in front. Once the drumming has stopped, the females kneel with their heads bent. A whistle may be heard in the rear. That’s their signal.

Fantastic energy!
The signal is sent to the band. Is the song familiar to you? Pay close attention.

Raise your arms! And the ladies all stood together. They are all beaming as they begin to work for the crowd. They take turns spinning, each line of females moving along with the drums and trumpets booming to “Funky Town”.

They sway their hips with their arms together before going into a sequence of kicks and leg extensions. It requires a great deal of flexibility and balance.

There’s even a complete kick, followed by lowering the elevated leg half a step into a folded knee and sinking to the ground. The goal now is to coordinate all of those kicks to the beat of the music. Can you do it?

You’re gazing at a stunning display of leg control.
It’s common for drill dance teams to have a theme for each performance. Kick, prop, military, and pom are all options. Drill dance teams were traditionally entirely female, but men have begun to participate. They have their applications!

Tryouts are often held in the spring or summer. Many people find it difficult to pass the basic tryouts. It doesn’t even take into account peer pressure. It’s not simply about the ability to dance. Those who want to join the team must demonstrate that they can execute the team’s motions as well as move in harmony with them.

There’s no need to worry.
The ability to learn new routines rapidly is another problem. Such children require high memory and motor abilities. All of this while auditioning for team members and coaches.

Yet, it appears that pupils enjoy the drill teams. Every year, about 30,000 kids from Texas participate. The white cap and white boots are also traditional, although they must be paired with the colors of the school.

These beauties split into two groups while strutting their stuff to the captivating drum rhythm. They do more high kicks in a row, never making a mistake. It takes a lot of work and hours to master. After the performance is complete, they take a step back and bow. Listen to the applause!
