Diane Gordon is a lady who has a remarkable amount of heart. Due to the fact that her vehicle was in the shop for repairs, she had to make the trip to her work at the grocery store on foot three kilometers, five days a week for practically an entire year.
However, one day as she was taking a short break at a gas station, she was taken aback by an unexpected find in the parking lot: a bag containing money.
The suitcase contained close to fifteen thousand dollars, which is more than enough money to address her personal transportation problem and then have some left over.
On the other hand, Diane did not give the question of what she needed to do with the bag of money that she found even a second thought.
She did not accept the money but instead promptly phoned the police to report the enormous amount of cash and hand it over to them. Dan Keller, the head of police, was caught away by the extraordinary act of honesty that was shown here.
He added, “It doesn’t happen very frequently, that someone discovers a huge quantity of money and turns it in.”
He was right; it doesn’t happen very often.
Diane discovered that the money belonged to a young couple who had just just been married on the same day that she found it. The couple expressed relief and gratitude after learning that they would be getting their money back, but the plot doesn’t stop there!
The act of integrity that Diane displayed at the White Lake Township Police Department had such an impact on the wife of one of the police officers who worked there. Therefore, she decided to start a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe in order to assist Diane in purchasing a new vehicle.
We are grateful to the kind individuals who have contributed to the success of the campaign. An update posted on the website on February 8 expressed gratitude to everyone for their “overwhelming” support.
In addition to this, it was said that Diane “officially signed for her new Jeep Compass yesterday.”
A lesson that honesty is always the best policy and that good actions are seldom ignored is provided by the kind gesture that Diane performed for her coworker.
