On a snowy Wednesday morning in England’s countryside, the Princess of Wales, who is 41 years old, paid a visit to the Irish Guards while they practiced. That was her first time serving with the regiment since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, when she was elevated to the rank of honorary Colonel.

She took over for her husband, Prince William, who had been promoted to the position of Prince of Wales by King Charles III, who named him the new Colonel of the Welsh Guards to reflect his new title.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a camouflage coat while she received training on how to assist a battlefield damage, learned about anti-poaching aid that is delivered to troops and park rangers in East Africa, and observed how the regiment is assisting the Ukrainian army in its efforts to clear landmines from the area.

Kate’s trip to the training grounds on Salisbury Plain started with a meeting with the Irish Guards of Number One and Number Two Company.

During their conversation, the Irish Guards shared stories of their most recent deployment to East Africa to assist with Security Force Assistance duties. They have been providing training and assistance to other troops, such as assisting park rangers with anti-poaching operations, while stationed there.

After that, she joined other members of Number Three Company as they participated in a medical training and casualty exercise.

Kate’s tour of the regiment came to a close with a presentation on the various weapon systems that are in use by the organization.

Kate is a seasoned visitor to the Irish Guards, particularly during their St. Patrick’s Day parades, despite the fact that she is just in her first year in her current role as Colonel of the regiment.

She was almost always there when the guards were being presented with the customary shamrock symbol.

A celebration of St. David’s Day, a national holiday in Wales, was attended by the couple along with the Welsh Guards the week before.
