When a Texas couple’s yard became impassable due to the winter storm, a delivery driver’s vehicle became stranded there, and the pair became her “guardian angels.”
During the severe winter storm that was wreaking havoc throughout the state of Texas, Chelsea Timmons slept with Nina Richardson and Doug Condon at their house for a total of five nights.
According to what she shared, “They have not only supported me through the base of the storm, but since I haven’t been able to make it back home they very much won’t let me go.”
When Chelsea was finishing up the last of her Favor Delivery orders for the day, the weather took a turn for the worse sooner than she had anticipated.
She intended to go food shopping in the morning and then return home about noon before the snow started falling, but the road conditions soon worsened and she was unable to follow her original plan.
It took Chelsea more than an hour to pick up the goods and bring it to them. When she arrived, she discovered that their home was situated at a lower elevation than the main road, which meant that the gradient of their driveway was steeper than average.
She proceeded to drive down the slope with extreme caution; nevertheless, the icy road led her to lose control of her vehicle. The accident was caused by Chelsea crashing her car head-on into the couple’s flower garden and knocking down a tree.
To her good fortune, she did not have sufficient velocity to inflict any harm.
While Chelsea was delivering the couple’s groceries, she informed them about the event and informed them that she would not be able to return up the driveway. They tried using Epsom salt, bird seeds, and sand in an effort to give the vehicle more traction, but it was to no avail.
After that, Nina and Doug invited her inside their house to wait for a tow vehicle till it arrived, however, after Chelsea waited for many hours, AAA finally notified her that her location was unreachable.
Due to the bad state of the roads, none of the available ridesharing services or taxis could be used.
She was born and raised in Texas, but she never before had to deal with anything like this. To her good fortune, she did not have sufficient velocity to inflict any harm.
Her vehicle was in good shape, and there were no issues with their property. The tree was the sole object that sustained damage as a result of the impact.

On Friday, Chelsea intended to make her way back to Houston, provided that the conditions of the roads and the weather would allow it and she was successful in doing so!
As Chelsea pondered on the events that had transpired over the last few days, she couldn’t help but get the impression that Nina and Doug were “guardian angels” who had been sent her way to keep her safe throughout the storm.
“I am really dumbfounded by everything that has taken place. I am beyond glad that in the midst of this epic winter storm I have been able to find consolation in the company of complete strangers.”
Even though it was below zero in Texas, Nina and Doug made sure that their house was filled with nothing but warmth for their visitor.
