Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds welcome their 4th child

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have welcomed their fourth child. On Feb. 12, Lively confirmed the news in an Instagram photo celebrating the Super Bowl, revealing that she no longer had a baby bulge. “Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023… been busy,” she said, standing next to a photo of herself with Reynolds and his mother, Tammy. The couple has not revealed any other information regarding the new kid.

On September 15, Lively revealed her fourth pregnancy by flaunting her baby belly on the red carpet at Forbes’ Power of Women Summit. She never announced the gender of the baby or the due date; Bustle previously reached out to Lively’s agents for comment but did not receive an instant response.

Lively and Reynolds already had three daughters: seven-year-old James, five-year-old Inez, and three-year-old Betty. Taylor Swift, the couple’s close friend, announced the name of their youngest kid in her 2020 Folklore tune “Betty.” (The names James and Inez were also mentioned in the song.) Swift also incorporated the little girl’s voice in the start of “Gorgeous,” from her 2017 album Reputation, when James was 3 years old. Given how secretive Lively and Reynolds are after having a new kid, it wouldn’t be shocking if Swift revealed the name of their fourth child in a future song.

Both Lively and Reynolds place a high value on family. Reynolds even just took a “sabbatical” from performing to spend more time with his children, as he revealed on LinkedIn in December 2021. “The most important thing for me… is that I don’t want to miss this time with my kids,” he said, adding that he wants them to live “normally” with routines. “For many years, while my wife Blake was shooting a picture, I would not shoot a film and would be with the kids,” he explained. “We never truly worked at the same time, but we were constantly away, so the kids were away as well.”They have a reasonably typical schedule now that they are in school. I believe it is critical for their growth, and I like being a present father. “I enjoy taking them to school and picking them up in the morning.”

In an interview with Good Morning America in January 2020, Lively quipped that she had “3,000” children, acknowledging that the transition from two to three children was more hectic than she had imagined. “At one time, we had three [kids] aged four and younger,” she explained. “It’s like going from two to three thousand.” I mean, we have a lot of kids. It’s quite a bit. People claim that moving from two to three is the same thing. You know, it’s very simple. They do not have three children. It’s insane.” Lively and Reynolds’ household is about to get much wilder now that their fourth child has arrived.
