David Beckham claims that his “tired” obsessive-compulsive condition forces him to clean his family’s home after everyone has gone to bed.
Beckham will describe his experience with OCD in a forthcoming Netflix documentary series on his life and career, according to The Guardian. Beckham initially announced the series in a July 2022 Instagram post, saying it would “include unseen material and untold stories, as well as interviews with the people who have been a part of my journey.”

In one scene seen by The Guardian, Beckham stated that he sometimes spends hours cleaning and arranging his family’s house.
“When everyone is in bed, I go around and clean the candles, put the lights on to the proper setting, and make sure everything is neat.” “I detest coming down in the morning and seeing cups, plates, and bowls,” Beckham, 47, remarked. “I remove the candle wax.” I clean the window. The smoke around the interior of a candle is my pet peeve.”
“I know, it’s strange,” he continued.
When the camera crew commented on how clean Beckham’s kitchen is, he mentioned his wife, Victoria Beckham, according to the outlet.
“I clean it so thoroughly, I’m not sure it’s truly appreciated so much by my wife,” Beckham remarked, adding that cleaning the house is “tiresome.”
According to the site, Victoria stated that her spouse is “loved” and “simply so lovely.”
OCD, according to the International OCD Foundation, is a mental health problem that “occurs when a person becomes trapped in a cycle of obsessions and compulsions.” Kelly Burch of Insider reported that OCD affects around 1% of the US population.
Beckham has previously spoken about his OCD, notably in an interview with ITV in 2006.

“I have this obsessive-compulsive problem where everything needs to be in a straight line or everything has to be in pairs,” he told the Daily Mail.
“I have that problem,” he continued. I’ll check into a motel. Before I can unwind, I need to move all of the pamphlets and books into a drawer. Everything must be flawless.”
Howie Mandel, Camila Cabello, and Lena Dunham are among the other celebrities who have been diagnosed with OCD.
