The world saw through the actions of Lexie Comeau-Drisdelle that heroes may come in a variety of forms.

Despite the fact that she has a handicap, the little girl from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, who is nine years old, prevented her younger brother from drowning in the pool at their family home.

Lexie has cerebral palsy, and as a result, she is unable to move or communicate. She may be confined to a wheelchair, but she has never stopped being a loving and devoted sister to her younger brother, Leeland, who is 1 years old.

In anticipation of Lexie’s ninth birthday celebration, her family members were very busy cleaning the house and preparing food for their extended family, friends, and other loved ones to enjoy together.

Even though she was caring for Leeland, Leeland’s grandma had little choice but to pitch in and assist out around the home since everyone else was so busy cleaning and decorating.

Leeland, who was one year old at the time, was full of energy and curiosity, so the instant her grandma turned her back, he seized the chance to investigate his surroundings.

He had never before been successful in opening the backdoor, and as soon as he did, he dashed out of the house in the direction of the backyard swimming pool. Fortunately for the little child, his kind sister Lexie was standing right there when everything transpired, and she saw everything.

Even though Lexie was unable to go after her brother or shout out his name in an effort to stop him, she was aware that she needed to take action of some kind and  she did the only thing she could…

The terrible scream that Lexie gave out was effective in drawing the attention of all of the members of her family.

They immediately stopped what they were doing in order to rush over and help Lexie, fearing that something terrible had happened to her.

It was Lexie’s grandmother, Nancy Comeau-Drisdelle, who was the first one to enter the room. She discovered the young girl, who was nine years old at the time, screaming at the top of her lungs while pointing towards the rear door that was open.

The kid, who was only one year old, became disoriented and roamed about for a few minutes before eventually falling into the pool and dying. She saw the kid at the edge of the pool and run to save him.

Because Lexie is a bright and clever young lady, she was able to immediately call for assistance, which ultimately ended up saving the life of her lovable younger brother.

Immediately after the sad event, the family made the decision to erect a fence all the way around the backyard pool and even secured it with a padlock so that such mishaps would not occur in the future.

The mother of Lexie has high expectations that her daughter would help others understand that people with cerebral palsy are intellectual and are able to comprehend situations as well.
