Don Lemon shared his thoughts about his dismissal from CNN

Don Lemon claims that CNN has fired him.

According to reports, Lemon’s agent informed him of his dismissal.

On Twitter, he wrote, “I am stunned.” “I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly after 17 years at CNN.”

“I never received any word that I wouldn’t be able to carry on with the work I’ve always loved at the network. It is obvious that there are some more significant issues at hand.

After anchoring NBC Chicago and working as a correspondent for NBC News, Lemon joined CNN in 2006.

He was well-known for criticizing cable news during his time on CNN and for expressing his strong opinions.

He recently came under fire for remarks he made on the radio about Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina, after she declared her candidacy for president in the 2024 election.

She “isn’t in her prime,” he said during a CNN This Morning episode.

“In her 20s, 30s, and possibly her 40s, when a woman is regarded as being in her prime,”

His remarks sparked an immediate backlash.

CNN released a statement saying the two “have parted ways” in response to Lemon’s tweet about being fired from the network.

Don will always be a member of the CNN family, and we appreciate all that he has done for us over the past 17 years, the network said in a statement. “We wish him well and will support him in his endeavors in the future.”
