Dwayne Johnson saved his mother’s life after they were left homeless

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Johnson was reared by his mother, Ata Johnson, and grew up in poverty. Despite knowing his father, he did not have a strong connection with him, and he was away for most of Johnson’s formative years.

In the aftermath of his upcoming comedy, “Young Rock,” Johnson had to revisit some of his most difficult childhood memories as he remembered his late father, Rocky Johnson.

He recalled defining experiences from when he was 10, 15, and 18, particularly the incident that shaped him into the guy he is now. He acknowledged:

“When my father was 13, he was kicked out of his family and became homeless, which influenced the guy who raised me.”

Unfortunately, Rocky, a former professional wrestler, died unexpectedly in 2020, and Johnson laments that he did not live long enough to watch “Young Rock,” which depicts the world of the guys who “dominated” the ring in the 1970s and 1980s.

Johnson, a modern-day multimillionaire, did not always live a prosperous life. When he was 14, he and his mother were evicted from their Hawaii home because they couldn’t pay the $180 per week required to cover rent.

While the hard times are long gone, Johnson does not hesitate to express his gratitude to the woman who gave up everything to ensure his future.

On important occasions, he has constantly shared tear-jerking remarks about his mother. On Mother’s Day 2015, he outdid himself with a narrative about how his mother sobbed as she remembered how far they had come.

Johnson posted a photo of his mother aboard an aircraft on Instagram. He went on to describe how they were seated across from each other when she looked around the plane and couldn’t believe her eyes.

The “Baywatch” star was asked about her happiness, and before she could respond, the flight attendant delivered a dish of food to her table. She responded with tears in her eyes: ”

“Am I happy?” “I used to be concerned about how I was going to buy groceries for us, but now I just have my breakfast in front of me.”

She declared she’d never been happier, unable to control her feelings, and all Johnson could do was shake his head and grin. He then wished his mother a happy Mother’s Day and joked at the end of the caption that his mother would surely murder him for uploading a photo of her sobbing.

Ata spent her youth in Samoa, where she was born in October 1948 to Peter Fanene Maivia and Lia Maivia. Johnson was born in 1972, although she did not marry his father until 1978. The couple split in 2003, and Ata never married again.

Despite the fact that life had only handed her lemons, she opted to pour herself a large pitcher of lemonade. She battled and defeated stage 3 lung cancer in 2010. Her tribulations, however, were far from over.

She was in another terrible car accident in 2014, but she survived. Johnson recounted her experience and discussed the value of family during her recuperation.

Johnson’s mother, the gorgeous and diverse Ata, has remained the pinnacle of strength, and it is reasonable to say that the father of three has taken after his mother and is just as powerful.

Johnson and his mother have always had an outstanding relationship. Life was difficult for Johnson and his mother in 1986, when he was just 14 years old. His mother’s automobile was also repossessed around the time they were evicted.

Johnson published a touching Facebook post in 2012, in which he revealed that he had given his mother a brand-new automobile on Christmas Day. The present was intended to “replace” the one that had been repossessed decades before.

Another photo showed Johnson and his mother hugging, and another showed Ata in her new automobile. The photographs were accompanied by emotive text that read:

“When I was 14, I witnessed my mother sobbing because our sole automobile had been repossessed.” This felt great. Mom, Merry Christmas.”

The lovely present, however, was only one of several surprises Johnson had in store for his mother. While presents have always been a means for Johnson to express his thanks to his mother, his most recent one was beyond all expectations, leaving his mother in tears.

On Saturday, June 4, the actor posted many Instagram videos of his mother seeing the lovely new house he bought for her. He began the post with a lovely caption that read:

“Mom, I love you, and surprise!” “I used to despise it when my mother cried, but these days I’ll gladly accept her tears of joy.”

The house has a black double entrance that leads into a lovely sitting room with white decor and matching furniture. With dashes and colors of brown, beautiful wall art and house plants highlight the room.

The family room has identical white sofas and a wall exhibiting her vintage ukuleles. The other wall displays a collection of framed images of their forebears, which Johnson claims his mother hasn’t “seen since she was a youngster growing up in Samoa.”

A smackdown room, where Ata maintains her most fantastic Rock and DJ artifacts, has been a continuous fixture in all of the residences she’s lived in. However, due to her various collections, the space became cramped over time.

So, for his mother’s new home, Johnson added built-ins as well as posters, movie awards, championship trophies, and University of Miami game balls. His mother now has plenty of room to add additional stuff anytime she wants.

The “Walking Tall” star revealed that it took him and his design team 8 weeks to complete the house. The present took Ata completely by surprise, and she couldn’t stop crying. “There’s no higher feeling than making you happy when you come home, Mom,” the actor wrote at the end of the post.
