Kelly Clarkson, aged 40, attended the People’s Choice Awards with her then-eight-year-old daughter, River Rose, on December 6, 2022. Her show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” won the daytime talk show award in 2022, prompting her to deliver a monologue on stage.
Clarkson highlighted her second kid, son Remington Alexander, aged six, who was left at home, in her winning speech. While Clarkson explained why her son had missed the event, her daughter applauded for her mother at their meal.
Because Remington wasn’t feeling well, the country music singer revealed that she was “having a date night” with her daughter. The “American Idol” winner expressed how “wonderful” it was to get the prize after so many people voted for her.
She talked about how important her followers were to her, since they were the reason she had a career because they had supported her for a long time. The mother of two thanked everyone at the end of her remarks.
She announced that she and River were going out for ice cream, to which the small girl said, “Go, Mom!” To commemorate the wonderful achievement, the celebrity received a lovely hug from her kid.

While the majority of people recognize Clarkson as a renowned singer and television personality, her children only know her as their mother. The performer always prioritized her children, as seen by the fact that she brought her daughter to the awards presentation and acknowledged her son throughout her statement.
Clarkson has recently made it a point to bring her children to events such as her induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September 2022. The country singer brought her mother, Jeanne, along with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

Clarkson previously said in an interview that becoming a mother to her young children had impacted the way she handled her career. She explained why she opted to postpone her talk show so she could drop her kids off at school in the morning.
Their nanny brought them up in the afternoon after the latest episode was moved back by 30 minutes. The television celebrity was pleased with her time with her children, saying:
“At least I have the mornings with them, and then I have nights with them.”

The former “The Voice” judge had “mom guilt,” but felt fortunate to be able to see her children as much as she did. The singer remembers calling her mother years ago and inquiring if she saw her children enough.
Clarkson was consoled by Jeanne, who told her that she saw her children more than she had seen her as a child! Getting to this point, though, was difficult since she had to juggle between her children and her divorce.
Clarkson and Brandon married in October 2013 after being in a relationship for two years. Before the couple spoke their vows, the actress joked that she was “too joyful” and that Brandon was spoiling her creativity!
She complained about composing joyful tunes and how it was killing her! The former couple welcomed their daughter in 2014, followed by their son two years later.
Clarkson spoke on parenting in February 2020, discussing how it transformed individuals for the better. The musician stated that it had made her stronger, but she also revealed that it was the most difficult job she had ever done, despite the fact that it had made her altruistic and pushed her to prioritize.
It was announced in June 2020 that the singer had filed for divorce after being married to her spouse for over seven years. She cited irreconcilable disagreements as the reason for their divorce, which occurred after they had spent many months as a family in Montana during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Clarkson said to Willie Geist in September of the same year that her life had been a “dumpster.” The actress said that the past six months had been difficult, and she had spoken with divorced friends.

She claimed she couldn’t imagine going through the procedure without an outlet since it was the worst experience for everyone involved. The parent explained how she was coping with a public divorce.
The former couple’s divorce was finalized in March 2022, with Clarkson receiving joint custody but paying $45,601 in child support to her husband. Brandon had to pay a $1.3 million one-time payment in addition to $115,000 in monthly spousal support.
The payment would be made to the talent manager until January 31, 2024. Clarkson purchased the Montana ranch but did not dwell on or use it because her ex-husband lived there and paid her rent.
The country singer was also allowed to keep the family’s dogs and various vehicles. Brandon was supposed to receive all of the animals from their Montana property.
