One of America’s Got Talent’s most recent candidates has returned to the stage and once again wowed the judges.
If you watched the last season of American Idol, you’re probably familiar with Courtney Hadwin. Her audition quickly went viral once it appeared on television.
Courtney received the third Golden Buzzer of America’s Got Talent season 13 from judge Howie Mandel.
The kid took America’s Got Talent stage for her audition and instantly admitted to judge Mel B that she was terrified. The judge was gracious enough to tell Courtney not to worry.
She inquired about Courtney’s favorite school subject, which, predictably, is music. Courtney does not have a favorite piece of music to study in school, but based on her audition, it is reasonable to conclude she enjoys the classics.
She controlled the stage with her long, lanky arms, highlighting every motion she made while singing Otis Reading’s “Hard to Handle.”
Her audition was so exciting and distinctive that the judges were blown away by her skill. In fact, Howie Mandel compared her to Janis Joplin, one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Before slamming his golden buzzer for Courtney, Howie stated:
“I’m not Clive Davis,” I say. My name is Howie Mandel. I can’t get you a record contract. All I can do for you, young woman, is provide you…”
Receiving a Golden Buzzer during the audition rounds is one of the finest compliments an artist can receive. It’s no surprise, therefore, that Courtney returned for America’s Got Talent: The Champions.
They’re bringing back the best of the best from all of the Got Talent shows this season, not just AGT. Susan Boyle received the very first Golden Buzzer of the season!
Courtney opted to sing her first original song, a rock and roll tune called “Pretty Little Thing,” for her comeback to AGT.
The video was uploaded by America’s Got Talent on their YouTube account, where it has received over 3,000 comments from fans all around the world.

I was rooting for her from the start, and it’s a shame she didn’t win. It’s incredible to see Courtney take the stage and sing a song she composed. She has fantastic skills. Keep singing, Courtney; you did an excellent job with this song.
Courtney, like another AGT star, Darci Lynne Farmer, could not earn enough votes to advance in the competition and was sent home after week 2.
