More details are emerging regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to stand down from their positions as senior working royals, and they are being shared by the couple.

When Harry, 38, addresses the camera, he focuses on the extent of journalistic intrusion that he feels the couple endured as a result of their status as working members of the royal family. In addition to this, he asserts that both he and Meghan were dealt with in a manner that was distinct from that of his brother, Prince William.

In the preview, we hear Harry remark, “They were glad to lie to protect my brother,” and then he goes on to explain that him and Meghan were the victims of “institutional manipulation.”

The next thing he says is, “They were never willing to speak the truth in order to protect us.”

Harry adds the following line in his own clip as he is on board the aircraft: “We are on the freedom flight.”

Meghan also discusses the effects that the decision to step back had on their personal lives, most notably the decision made by the United Kingdom government to remove their 24-hour police protection on the grounds that they were no longer entitled to tax-payer-funded security.
