At the age of 84, the Oscar-winning actress has decided that she will no longer have cosmetic surgeries.
Despite the fact that undergoing plastic surgery is considered to be the standard in Hollywood, she claims that she has made the decision not to submit to the process again.
Jane Fonda hasn’t always had an easy time dealing with how she sees herself in the mirror.
“I’m happy that I don’t seem too old for my years, but that’s because I’ve undergone cosmetic surgery… On one level, I despise the idea that I’ve been forced to make external changes to my body in order to convince myself that everything is OK.”
Fonda was candid about some of the many health scares that she has had during her 83 years: “I wish I had more courage. However, I cannot change who I am.”
From cancer to her mastectomy and osteoporosis, she did express a profound remark that may provide some light on how she is able to continue living her life despite the challenges she has faced throughout her life.
“I didn’t believe I’d ever live this long—or feel like I’m entire or becoming whole,” she added.
“I’ve come to the conclusion that the way I spend the remaining years of my life is entirely up to me, and this has given me a very deliberate and focused attitude.
“To have a healthy relationship with myself, I have to work hard every day and it is not something that comes naturally to me.”
