Jennifer Grey fans are in for a surprise, as the Dirty Dancing star has a new film role, and she looks completely different.
The actress received appreciation from her close friend, actress Jamie Lee-Curtis, who promoted Jennifer’s current endeavor on Instagram.
“@jennifergrey will BLOW YOUR MIND as Gwen Shamblin in @lifetimetv,” she wrote alongside photos of the actor in character. GWEN SHAMBLIN: HUNGRY FOR SALVATION! TONIGHT.”
Jennifer appears in the photos with huge, blonde hair and a full face of makeup, and she resembles Gwen, the creator of the Christian diet programs The Weigh Down Workshop and the Remnant Fellowship.
Supporters joined in on the post, writing: “Ooh, I’m looking forward to seeing this, and I’m thrilled she’ll be playing such a nuanced role.” She deserves it,” and “OMG! She looks exactly like her.”
Jennifer recently talked about how it was difficult to portray the Christian diet guru and claimed she struggled to portray “the epitome of anorexia nervosa.”

Jennifer stated in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she “knew nothing at all” about Gwen before being selected for the part.
“I felt a lot of gravity about it,” she explained. “My initial thinking was, “Wow, this is a terrible concept to play someone so evil, who was a genuine person who was only recently in this world.”
“Then I thought, how can I be a part of a story that actually confirms a very loud voice in our culture about [the significance of] body size and perfectionism?” Jennifer added.
She insisted on using the position as a platform to fight Gwen’s message that being skinny is better.
“She was the embodiment of anorexia nervosa,” Jennifer explained, “which has one of the highest or second-highest death rates [among eating disorders].”
“I thought it would be interesting if I could do this and use it as a platform to encourage people to get help and show how silly and wrong her message was,” she said.
