Julianne Moore is taking some time to reflect on her illustrious career.
Moore, who stars in and produces the new Apple TV+ thriller Sharper, was recently quoted saying that she finds it incredible that she has maintained a career for the whole of the previous four decades.
“I take a step back and think to myself, “When I look back, I can’t believe that I’ve truly been doing this for this long.” I’ve had excellent fortune, “Moore, who is now 62 years old, got her start on the soap series As the World Turns in 1985, when she played twins who were good and wicked.
Moore went on to snag little parts that made huge impact in movies like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle in 1992 and The Fugitive the following year after she won a Daytime Emmy for her work in 1988.
Since then, she has established herself as one of the most acclaimed actresses of her age, garnering five Oscar nominations and taking home the award for her portrayal of a lady suffering from Alzheimer’s disease with early onset in the drama film Still Alice (2014).
“I continue to have fun with it,” she adds of working in the film industry. “That’s the second thing that’s so fantastic about it,” the speaker said. Moore attributes her accomplishments to her desire to put in long hours and work hard.
She and her husband, director Bart Freundlich, who is 53 years old, have two children, Liv, 20, and Caleb, 25. She gives the following explanation: “When I’m prepared, I feel like I can achieve anything in life.”
“If I feel like I understand the scenario, if I’ve learnt about what I have to do, if I know my lines, and if I know what I want… those things assist you.” Working with folks who are aware of appropriate conduct on set also helps.
She thinks that working with level-headed costars and filmmakers is something that has been essential to her right from the start of her career. “It’s always been important to me, really,” she says. “There were a number of actors that I worked with when I was first starting out in
Moore reports that filming Sharper was an amazing experience for them. She takes on the role of Madeline, the mysterious wife of a millionaire (John Lithgow). Moore states, “Everything she’s doing, she’s doing because it’s for her.”
This is the motivation behind all of her actions. All of the things that she does, including the people that she consorts with, the way that she dresses, and the way that she purchases, are done because she is motivated entirely by her own feeling of pleasure and want.”
Moore claims that after reading the screenplay, she “lost it. It was startling, humorous, and a complete surprise all in one. It was always one step ahead of me; I could never get ahead of it.”
She adored it to the point that she considered making her own version of it, therefore, she placed a call to the screenwriters Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka and said, “Let’s get together and attempt to get this produced.”
Moore is very pleased with the outcome of the project. “It’s great that it’s available to everyone exactly this moment. And it seems like most people are having fun with it, “she continues. “As a result, I’m quite ecstatic.”
