During the Friday installment of her daily Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson gave a heartfelt performance of the song “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
The “Breakaway” singer, who is 40 years old, wowed the audience with her jazzy voice while wearing a green outfit and sparkling eye makeup during her performance over the holiday season.
Clarkson is hardly a novice when it comes to Christmas music. In 2004, she issued a rendition of “My Grown-Up Christmas List,” which was originally performed by Amy Grant, and in 2011, she issued a version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
Following the success of her first Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, which was issued in 2013 and included the chart-topping song “Underneath the Tree,” she published her second Christmas album, When Christmas Comes Around, in 2021.
“My purpose in choosing this lyric for being the title of this project was to bring forth a sense of reality to the fact that we are probably all in very different places emotionally ‘when Christmas comes around,'” Clarkson said at the time.
“Some of us are captivated with a new love, some of us are reminded of loss, some of us are filled with excitement for the approaching new year, and some of us are ecstatic for some well earned time away from the stress that our job life can often bring us.”
She went on to say that she wanted everyone to be able to relate to a message on the album, regardless of where they were or what they were going through in life at the time.
