“Lay Me Down” Is Performed By Willie Nelson’s Son, As Well As The Granddaughter Of Loretta Lynn…

Both Emmy Russell and Lukas Nelson are descended from musically talented families, as are both of their namesakes. Willie Nelson is the father of Emmy, who is Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter.

And now, the two are joining forces to perform “Lay Me Down,” a beautiful song that addresses the gloomy truth of moving from this side of paradise to the next.

The song ‘Lay Me Down’ was written in the style of the Psalms and reflects on our own morals as well as how we shall be at rest if we have a direct encounter with our heavenly father.

The lyrics of the song are given from the perspective of how difficult and cruel the world is, and how we won’t find true peace until we are put to rest once our lives here on earth are through.

The voices of Emmy Russell and Lukas Nelson, though, are what really capture the essence of it so well.

Together, the two gave a stunning performance that did justice to the song and would make their families proud.

Lorretta Lynn sadly passed away on October 4, 2022, at the age of 90 years old. This performance is a remarkable homage to the song “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

The performance is certain to make you well up with tears and appeal to the most primal parts of your soul, the parts that have a burning desire to be with Jesus
