Loretta’s family released a statement following the service to thank everyone who participated

Country performers gathered at the Grand Ole Opry building on Sunday (October 30) to remember Loretta Lynn during a public memorial service and celebration of her life. Loretta, who died on October 4, was honored with memorial performances by singers like Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Tanya Tucker.

Loretta’s granddaughter, Emmy Russell, and Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, both gave heartbreaking performances. Loretta and Willie’s 2016 duet “Lay Me Down” was performed by the duo.

Loretta’s family issued the following statement following the ceremony to thank everyone who attended:

“The lovely memorial conducted Sunday night at the @opry to celebrate Loretta’s life and legacy has greatly touched our hearts.” The evening properly represented her career, and the performances were outstanding. Above all, each song was written by close friends, and the room was packed with her family, friends, and admirers. “Love flooded the room and encircled every one of us.”
