Maddox Jolie, Angelina Jolie’s son, has spoken out about his father, Brad Pitt. The college student responded to questions about his well-known father in a video obtained by In Touch Weekly while on campus at Yonsei University in South Korea. When asked if the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star would pay him a visit at school, the 18-year-old responded, “I don’t know about that; what’s going on?” When asked if his relationship with Brad was over, Maddox said, “Whatever happens, happens.”
Brad and Angelina divorced in 2016. The Maleficent actress filed for divorce after an alleged altercation on a private plane involving Maddox. Angelina Jolie’s attorney, Robert Offer, told the Associated Press (via Entertainment Tonight) at the time that Angelina decided to end their nearly two-year marriage “for the health of the family.”
Brad revealed in a recent interview with The New York Times that he’s committed to his sobriety since splitting from the Oscar winner. “I had gone as far as I could, so I took away my drinking privileges,” Brad explained. “I had family issues,” he explained. “We’ll leave it there.”
Last month, Angelina dropped Maddox off at college. The mother of six admitted to crying uncontrollably as she said goodbye to her oldest child. “I also had the big sunglasses and the number of times I turned and waved at some point.” I know it was the one time in my life when I turned around six times before getting to the airport, and he sweetly stayed and kept waving, knowing I’d keep turning around. “You could tell he didn’t want to leave,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
“It’s nice to know how much he knows he’s loved,” Angelina continued. But yeah, I miss him, I miss him,” he continues, adding, “I’ll just get out there. I mean, I haven’t even bought my plane tickets yet.”
