Pat Boone lives in the home where he and Shirley raised their daughters. Even though he’s alone, he’s certain he will soon be reunited with his better half

Pat Boone is a well-known musician who rose to prominence in the late 1950s. For 65 years, he was married to his high school sweetheart, Shirley Boone.

A friend from Pat’s basketball team introduced them. Shirley was sitting on a bench when a friend informed Pat that she was the daughter of country singer Red Foley. Pat claimed that he wasn’t a huge lover of country music back then, but because he already loved Shirley, that rapidly changed.

The singer described their mutual bond as unusual, especially for 16-year-old high school students. “We were madly in love,” he said. Pat was quite worried before their first kiss because they had been dating for nine months.

He said that he simply kissed Shirley on the lips and then departed, but his girlfriend was not impressed. “Is that what I waited nine months for?” she wondered when she came home.

But Pat was frightened and worried about losing his connection with Shirley and ending up like his past high school partnerships. Nonetheless, the 16-year-old’s allure grew. Pat proposed to Shirley’s father when they were 19 years old.

Pat was overcome with emotion as she told the story. He described how moved Shirley’s father was to witness how much they cared for each other. “Would you look after my girl?” Shirley’s father inquired.

Foley was heartbroken because he had planned to move in with his daughter, but now he had to leave her with Pat.The musician pledged to look after Shirley, and he did adore her for the following 65 years they were married. Shirley and Pat eloped and took a risk on each other, not knowing what the future contained for them.

Pat and Shirley married in 1953 and moved to Teaneck, New Jersey, where they had four children by the time they were 23.

Shirley stayed at home to care for the children, while Pat worked hard to graduate from Columbia University and wow audiences with his music.

But things were looking up for the singer; at the age of 22, he got his own network music variety program, making him one of the youngest musicians to do so.

He was also expecting his fourth kid, so having his family expand while his work was thriving felt like a miracle. Boone also achieved another milestone when he graduated from Columbia University with honors.

Shirley understood there would be a lot of parties involving alcohol as a lady married to a music star, and because Boone’s music was a draw for many young ladies, she knew the music videos would show him caressing and kissing other women.

As a result of his awareness of the situation his music profession had placed his wife in, Pat recalled requesting Shirley Jones’ permission to kiss Shirley Jones in his “April’s Love” music video.

Pat was open about the kissing and drinking that would take place, so they recommitted to their marriage after the hardship because their union and family were always a priority.

Shirley and her husband were devout; therefore, they attributed their marriage’s strength to their beliefs. “We made a marital promise to God and to each other,” Pat explained.

In the early 1960s, his music grew so popular that he was second only to the renowned Elvis Presley. His daughter Debby sang one of his biggest singles, “You Light Up My Life,” which topped the charts in the 1970s.

The singer brought his family on tour with him, and the Boone family would occasionally perform together across the country, singing numerous gospel and pop tunes.

Pat had nothing but positive things to say about his wife after spending over six decades with her. He confessed that Shirley was most fulfilled when she was a decent wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed bringing people together and filling a room with joy.

Shirley was a multi-talented woman. She was a well-known novelist, musician, TV personality, and humanitarian. Pat recognized that maintaining a marriage for 65 years was not an easy task, but he had the right wife by his side. The singer reminisced on his lengthy marriage and stated,

“We didn’t have the perfect marriage, but marrying a wonderful lady helps.” You commit to God and to each other, and in difficult times, you hold on to your devotion to God and to your children. “You work through the challenges and discover that you are stronger as a result.”

Pat bid farewell to his life’s love when she died in 2019 at the age of 84. Shirley apparently died as a result of vasculitis problems with which she was diagnosed a year before her death.

In the presence of her family, Shirley peacefully passed away. Her husband was beside him, as were their four daughters, Debby, Cherry, Lindy, and Laury, who sang hymns to her as she breathed her last.

On the first Mother’s Day that the Boone family spent without Shirley, Debby Boone told her mother how much she loved being a mother.

Shirley died as a mother of four, grandmother of fifteen, and great-grandmother of eleven. She adored her mothering position and shared it with many others in her family.

Pat’s family has increased throughout the years since she had four children at the age of 23. In 1956, he and Shirley had their daughter, Debbie. She married her husband, Gabriel Ferrer, in 1979, and the couple has four children.

Debby, like her father, is a gifted musician. “You Light Up My Life” and “Keep the Flame Burning” are two of her biggest hits. She also has three Grammy Awards and 10 nominations.

Pat posted a photo of his entire family from Thanksgiving. Debby, who was dressed in a pink turtleneck, smiled as she sat between her sisters.

Linda, situated on the far left, has faced significant challenges in her life. Ryan, her kid, fell three stories from a skylight roof when he was a child and fractured his head.

Several doctors told Linda that her child would be vegetative even if he survived the serious injuries. Yet she never gave up on her child. She prayed to God to heal him, and after extensive medical treatment, Ryan was said to be doing far better than doctors had projected.

Ryan’s injury caused him to become extremely anxious around guys he perceives as threats, but Linda disclosed that she used medicinal marijuana to help him relax.

Linda also stated that Ryan got along well with her father and the other males in her family, but his anxiety limited the locations they could visit. When they have to go to church, she offers him a brownie laced with medicinal marijuana to help him relax.

Cherry, Linda’s older sister, was born in 1954 and is seated next to her. In the 1970s, she fought with anorexia nervosa, but happily, she had her husband, Dan O’Neil, who made sure she received the appropriate medical treatment.

O’Neil admitted that, in addition to coping with a mentally ill wife, he had to fight Pat because he did not feel Cherry required psychiatric care.

Even worse, O’Neil clashed with one of the most renowned artists at the time, who also happened to be his father-in-law.

Cherry, on the other hand, admitted to feeling a lot of pressure because of who her father was in society. She admired her father and aspired to be like him. As a result, she overdid her food and exercise, which proved bad for her body.

Cherry, on the other hand, is getting along better with herself and her parents now that she’s getting help.She has become her actual self, which has resulted in fewer conflicts with her family.

Laury, on the far right of the Thanksgiving image, has decided to live a life away from the spotlight. Although nothing is known about her, she appeared in the 1986 short film “No Alibis.”

The Boones have quickly incorporated their daughters’ spouses into the family. Debby posted a photo of herself, her father, and Linda out to supper. Linds’ husband, she claimed, had brought Pat out for his 88th birthday. With a huge smile, the father of four had his hands wrapped around his kids.

But the family does not just get together on special occasions; Debby also shared a sweet snapshot of herself and her father during an unplanned visit.

Shirley’s trust in God was passed down to her children. She once disclosed that she and her daughter would sing and conduct devotionals before breakfast every day and that they went to church three times a week.

Shirley instilled the same values in her grandkids. “There are three things I always tell them,” she explained.God cares about you. Your grandparents and parents adore you. “You are also a good girl or boy.”

Debby and Cherry are also delighted to be parents and grandparents. Debby posted a photo of her son Jordan Ferrer as a newborn and commended him for being the perfect son and father.

Cherry, on the other hand, can’t get enough of her grandkids. She uploaded a sweet photo of her granddaughter Hayley and announced that she could now create whole phrases. She also posted a photo of Hayley bonding with her younger brother.

Pat loves to make fantastic movies and hit albums, even at the age of 88. He did, however, concede that his grandkids enjoy his attention and have taught him to calm down.

Pat said that when he works too hard, his grandkids place their hands on his face and insist he listens, so he’s constantly enthusiastic and attentive to anything they have to say to him. While he is not present, he communicates with his grandchildren via Skype.

Although losing Shirley was terrible for Pat, he has kept his head up because he thinks he will soon be reunited with his better half. “We don’t die; we merely move on,” he explained, “and today was moving day.”

Pat went on to say that Shirley was not gone, but that she had changed her address and that she was confident they would be reunited and start again in paradise.

He confessed that he and Shirley had always shared the same vision. She wished for them to be the strong couple they had been on earth in paradise.

Pat now lives alone in the house he shared with Shirley and raised his four kids in. “I live with a servant and my dog, a small cocker spaniel,” he explained.

Pat noted that the mansion is on Beverly Drive and Sunset Boulevard, is on 1.2 acres, and is located close to the Beverly Hills Hotel. “But I’d want to live there.” “Shirley’s presence is felt in the home she designed and where all of my daughters grew up,” he elaborated.

Boone also has a housekeeper and a dog who live with him. He stated that he gets lonely when he misses his wife, but he was alright.

For Father’s Day, his daughter Debby tweeted pictures of the great dads in her life, as well as a video of Pat dancing to the “Get Your Dad to Dab” challenge from the Ellen DeGeneres show.

The actor has also continued to work; in 2022, he appeared in the film “The Mulligan Movie.” He also wrote the book “If,” in which he discusses how his faith in God revolutionized his life and propelled him to stardom.

Pat said last year that some of his Christmas tunes had not been released and would be made accessible to fans via streaming sites. Aside from working on new songs, his guilty pleasure in his spare time is driving fancy automobiles.

While Pat is enjoying his alone time, he admits that if he is permitted to see Shirley, he will die instantly. The musician believes that in paradise, he and his wife will still have the same love.
