In the book “Spare,” Prince Harry muses on the possibility that Princess Diana was instrumental in bringing him and Meghan Markle together.
The Duke of Sussex, who is now 38 years old, published his unusual book last month. In it, he reflects on his boyhood as a royal, his time spent serving in the military in Afghanistan, and how everything changed when he met the woman who would become his wife.
The complete tale of how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first met was revealed by Harry, who said that he was awestruck by Meghan’s beauty when he viewed a picture of her for the first time on Instagram.
On July 1, 2016, Harry asked a mutual acquaintance for Meghan’s contact information. On the same day, which was also the birthday of his late mother, Meghan, age 41, had jokingly posed for a photo with a friend named Violet.
According to Prince Harry, Meghan was the one who initially messaged him on Instagram, and the two of them quickly bonded over their mutual love of Africa, since Harry’s account on Instagram was packed with photographs from the continent.
“Eventually, we exchanged phone numbers, and mitigated the conversation over to text, going late into the night,” Harry wrote in Spare, adding that he was “texting like a teenager” through the following day.
“It dawned on me how weird, how odd, and how bizarre it was that this marathon chat should have started on July 1, 2016, t he fifty-fifth birthday of my mum,” he went on to say.
In 1997, Princess Diana passed away in a vehicle accident in Paris at the age of 36. Prince Harry has disclosed that he emotionally drove through the same tunnel 10 years after Princess Diana’s passing.
According to Prince Harry, who is speaking about Princess Diana, “the process of healing has enabled me to arrive to a point where I now feel the presence of my mom more than I ever have before. She is always there to protect and watch over me; she is my guardian angel.”
