“Real Happiness” Came to Steve Martin at the Age of 61 When He Married His 26-Year-Younger Wife, but He Covered the Birth of Their Child…

Before Steve Martin met the person he thought would be his happily ever after, he was married, however, the marriage did not work out. The year 1984 was the year when the actor and Victoria Tennant first met on the set of the movie “All of Me,” in which they both starred.

In an interview that she gave to The Morning Call in February 1991, an English actress named Victoria said that around the time that they were filming “All of Me,” nobody in England was familiar with Steve.

After the actress revealed to her mother that she had a lover, the parent immediately inquired about his identity.

When Victoria finally admitted that she was seeing another actor, she specifically identified him and said that the two of them were working on a film together at the time.

The fact that Victoria’s mother saw an actor was a source of disappointment for her, but the actress stood up for Steve, claiming that he was “better than most.”

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times that took place at the same time as the one with Victoria, Steve offered his perspective on the couple’s connection.

He said that he had “always felt bad” in the relationships he had entered into.

The celebrity always had the impression that he was the cause of his lovers’ unhappiness or that he was a lousy boyfriend, but once he met Victoria, he realized: “Oh. At that point, I realized it wasn’t me.”

The actor who played the father in “Father of the Bride” and Victoria remained married for a total of eight years until divorcing in 1994.

However, it was well worth the wait since the celebrity ended up meeting the person who was meant to be his “one” this time around. In the course of that connection, Steve was given the opportunity to perform a function that he had never before considered himself capable of.

During the middle of the 2000s, Steve had the opportunity to meet Anne Stringfield, a fact checker at The New Yorker.

Anne was assigned to review one of Steve’s comedic articles. The comedian reflected on the method in which they had always spoken before to physically seeing one another and said, “We chatted on the phone for a year before we ever met.”

It was stated that the pair was married in a secret ceremony at Steve’s house in Los Angeles in 2007, after they had been dating for three years.

Diane Keaton, Tom Hanks, Eugene Levy, Ricky Jay, Carl Reiner, and a number of other well-known persons were in attendance at the wedding.

Steve’s best man was Lorne Michaels, creator of “Saturday Night Live,” who also attended the wedding.

The comedian was 61 years old when he wed Anne, who was 35 at the time, which meant she was 26 years his younger and getting married for the first time. In 2022, he and his wife had already been together for 15 years.

In 2015, Steve gushed over his connection with his wife, describing it as the most “significant incident” in his life before going on to say:  “She is the one who makes everything possible. Kindness is one of the most admirable traits a person can possess, and she has this quality in plenty.”

In 2012, Anne and Steve became parents for the first time to a girl, Mary, who is also their only child. At the time, the couple had been together for five years.

Steve is currently enrolled in filming a new project, however, once it will be done, he does not plan to take new roles but rather focus on his duties as a Dad.
