Steve Harvey is a well-known American television personality who was born on January 17, 1957. He is most known for his famous television series, such as “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” “Family Feud,” “Celebrity Family Feud,” and “Judge Steve Harvey.”
Steve began his career as a comedian in the early 1980s before becoming a powerful TV personality. He did, however, formally exit the stand-up comedy industry in 2012.
In addition to comedy and presenting, Steve is the author of the classic book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” which was a best-seller in 2009. Furthermore, the gifted A-lister, who is also an actor, is an entrepreneur, having founded Steve Harvey Global, which comprises a production firm.
Steve, 66, is a highly regarded performer who has received several Daytime Emmy Awards as well as other media-related honors. He is now a multimillionaire, although this was not always the case.
Steve worked as an insurance salesman in Ohio before getting into show business. He spent a lot of time on the road. Married to his first wife, Marcia Harvey, whom he married in 1981, the radio host’s marriage ended in divorce in 1994 due to his extensive travel.
He got homeless after quitting his job to pursue a career in comedy. Steve survived on $50 a week since he had nowhere to reside.
In an honest interview with People in May 2016, the Hollywood actor recalled that heartbreaking era in his life, calling it his “worst point”:
“That was a bad time, just incredibly painful.” Everyone has a time when they turn back, when they think to themselves, “This is too much.” “It happened to me countless times.”
While attempting to wash up, Steve hid in a hotel toilet. Even under these dire circumstances, he refused to give up.
“I sat down and began to cry, but then a voice whispered, “If you keep going, I’ll take you someplace you’ve never visited.” It was as if God was saying, “Don’t give up; you’re nearly there,” he remembered.
Steve never gave up on his ambition of becoming a comedian, but he never had a backup plan. He stated that it was something he never trusted:
“I never believed in a backup plan.” Everyone I know who has a plan B has had to utilize it. “Because you can’t devote your entire attention to planning unless you have a backup plan.”
That doesn’t mean he didn’t ponder quitting at some point: “I’m only human.” There were a number of days when I didn’t believe I’d make it. Steve agreed.
He went on to say, “But I didn’t have anything.” I simply did not want to return home and admit defeat.” The West Virginia native said that he spent three years living in his automobile.
As a last resort, Steve began stealing to make ends meet on a regular basis. He described how depressing it was to live like that since he knew deep down that comedy was what he wanted to do:
“It was heartbreaking. “You’re on your own,” I realized. “You either have nothing or no one.” “I only knew I could make folks laugh.”
Steve ended up stealing gasoline from gas stations in order to travel to comedy gigs, allowing him to sleep in motels every other night. Aside from that, he lived in his Ford Tempo and used an Igloo cooler as a makeshift refrigerator. He appeared at rest stops’ restrooms and subsisted solely on bologna sandwiches.
Steve earned $50 in his first attempt at stand-up comedy in 1985, prompting him to quit his job as an insurance salesman. That choice had an impact on his marriage to Marcia, with whom he had twin daughters, Brandi and Karli.
The devoted father explained that his desire to care for his wife and children drove him to defy the odds, and as a result, “I had to take this opportunity,” he added.
As a comedian, the now-famous celebrity earned $3,000 for his efforts. Unfortunately, his relationship with his wife was not the only one that shattered; his connection with his children was also shattered.
In addition, 75% of his profits went directly to his ex-wife and their children, reducing his salary. Steve seldom visited his daughters but made sure they were financially secure. In addition, his comic profession helped him meet his present wife.
Marjorie Harvey, Steve’s third wife, appeared on his talk program, “The Steve Harvey Show,” in 2018, and during the commercial break, he asked her to tell the audience how they met.
The designer claimed that she and her husband initially met in 1987 at a Memphis comedy club. Marjorie had brought her girlfriend to the comedy night, and the two arrived late and headed to the front seats.
“I was late, and I assumed he was going to offer me the job because he became very silent.” He was simply gazing at me. I assumed I was going to be a part of the show “Marjorie recalled.”
According to the stylist, Steve, who was entranced by her attractiveness, snapped out of it and felt compelled to say something. She revealed the first words he said:
“I’m terribly sorry. “I’m not sure who she is, but I’m going to marry her.”

During a daytime talk program, Steve stated that his future wife took him away, saying he “topped breathing” when he first saw her.
“I don’t know who you are, but I’m going to marry you,” he said again as he recalled. After that, they began dating, but their relationship ended after a year and a half. They moved on to have different lives.
In June 2021, Steve disclosed that he and Marjorie had split up due to his homelessness. He purposely ceased speaking with her in order to conceal it.
He never returned to Memphis, Tennessee, after they called it quits. They married and had children before reuniting some years later. After his divorce from his second wife, Mary Lee Harvey, the “Little Big Shots” presenter credits his bodyguard with bringing him and Marjorie together.
According to reports, Steve began dating Mary before his first divorce was finalized. The former couple married in 1996 and had a protracted divorce in 2005.
Marjorie, on the other hand, is a clothes designer, company owner, and blogger, in contrast to her famous husband, who is a television celebrity.
Also, the loving mom has 3.1 million Instagram followers and is known online as a social media influencer.

When she realized that her undergraduate degree was not aligned with her job ambitions, the hazel-brown-eyed beauty dropped out of the University of Memphis. Instead, she pursued her interests in fashion and travel.
To get a jump start on her profession, she attended fashion events in New York, Hollywood, and Paris, learning everything she could about the industry.
At the same time, her husband had his big break in show business when he secured a spot on “Showtime at the Apollo” in 1993. Following that tenure, Steve had great success, landing a sitcom, appearances on Cedric the Entertainer, and a slot on Bernie Mac’s “Original Kings of Comedy” tour.
Furthermore, as luck would have it, he and Marjorie reunited after his bodyguard contacted her friend and passed the phone to Steve to speak with his ex-girlfriend.

Steve remembered that he was gambling in Sin City at the time, hoping to forget about his difficulties. He questioned Marjorie about her spouse while on the phone, and she informed him she had been divorced for four years.
Without further ado, the producer boarded a private plane to Memphis the next day to restart their relationship. Since then, the couple has been together. The “The Parkers” alum enthused over the couple’s reunion in a love letter to his significant other. He declared that it was the best day of his life in Vegas:
“I knew I wasn’t going to blow it again. It was much better when we got back together since we knew each other. “It was simply the right match.”

Steve remarked that reconciling with Marjorie would allow him to finally settle down since he would have someone to start a new life with. He went on to say that it was even more charming that she was willing to accompany him on that voyage.
Marjorie and Steve married on June 25, 2007, after a year of romance, and enjoy a healthy marriage after over 16 years of marriage. When the couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, he penned a love letter to his lovely wife in which he reflected on their time together.
He said that being in a relationship again was easy on both sides. They frequently made each other laugh and put each other on cloud nine. “I filled in all of your blanks. You certainly filled in all of my blanks. “It didn’t take me long to understand you were the lady for me,” Steve wrote.

The award-winning actor thanked Marjorie for helping him get to where he is now and said that his success is due to her:
“I want to thank you since my life would not be the same without you. I’m grateful to you because you transformed my life. Outside of God’s grace, you are the single most important reason I am where I am today. “You are the chosen one.”

When Steve and Marjorie reconciled, he acknowledged that he was not quite where he wanted to be. Despite his hard work, he still had a lot to accomplish, stating that he “was in a dark area for quite some time, and I think all the stars aligned for us at the appropriate time.”
Thanks to his $100 million inheritance, Steve now lives a nice life with his wife and children. In their mixed family, the couple has six children.
Steve has three children from his first marriage to Marcia. In addition to their twin girls, the former couple had a boy named Broderick. Wynton is the family patriarch’s second son from his marriage to Mary.
He adopted Marjorie’s three children from her former marriage to Darnell Woods when he and Marjorie married. They have three children: Lori, Morgan, and Jason, whom Steve named after himself. Over the years, the family of eight has split their time between three cities: Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Marjorie and Steve are not only loving parents, but also grandparents to seven children. Jason, Steve’s son, and his model fiancée Amanda have four children. His daughter Morgan and her husband Kareem have two daughters, whereas his daughter Karli and her husband Ben only have one.
In 2018, Steve joked that he had patiently waited for all of his children to leave the nest because he wanted the house to himself. However, this has not always worked in his favor.
“They have returned to the home, and they have brought some more individuals with them.” They bring them over and drop them off every time.
Despite his successes and a large, happy family, he admitted that he was still attempting, by whatever means necessary, to prevent history from repeating itself. Steve stated that he did not want to be homeless again.
“I’m fleeing homelessness. I’ll never be in that situation again. If my program is canceled, I have three more lined up. “I don’t have any spare time because I work 12 jobs,” Steve explained his new life.
