The family of Bruce Willis has announced that he has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia…

His family revealed on Thursday that the actor Bruce Willis has been given a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, sometimes known as FTD.

In the spring of 2022, the actor’s family made the first announcement that he had been diagnosed with aphasia.

“Since we disclosed Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in the spring of 2022, Bruce’s health has worsened and we now have a more precise diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (also known as FTD),” the statement read, “Unfortunately, difficulties with communicating are just one of several symptoms that Bruce has as a result of his illness.

Even though it hurts, it’s a comfort to finally have a diagnosis that makes sense of everything.”

In the official statement that was released and published on the website of the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, it was said that FTD is a “cruel illness.”

According to the Willis and Moore families, “FTD is the most frequent type of dementia for persons under the age of 60, and since acquiring the diagnosis may take years, FTD is likely considerably more widespread than we know.”

“There is now no medication available for the sickness, but we have high hopes that this situation will improve in the years to come. We have high hopes that any public attention that is paid to Bruce’s situation will be used toward shedding light on this disease, which requires a great deal more attention and study than it now receives.”

According to the AFTD, there is presently no treatment available for FTD.

In their statement, the families added, “As Bruce’s situation worsens, we hope that any media attention may be focused on raising a light on this illness that requires much more awareness and study.”

At the conclusion of their speech, the Willis family suggested that people with FTD visit the website of the AFTD for help and urged others to learn more about the condition.
