A deer walked across the Herring family’s front yard and approached their daughter, Maya, as they were unloading their car after a canoe excursion. From the minute they met, the tiny deer followed Maya everywhere she went. “Maya realized it needed its mother, who we presume was off feeding and recovering after the childbirth, so she escorted it back to the woods,” Brad Herring added.
Soon later, they noticed a doe and fawn in the yard of their next-door neighbor, and mother and baby were reunited!
