This is unbelievable! Tiny dog saves his human from moose

(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) —It’s that time of year again: moose season!

Every year, a few new videos appear on the internet demonstrating why we should be terrified of moose.

This year’s “near call with a moose” winner comes to us from Alaska, where moose and bears appear to walk the streets of any city, town, or village in the union’s northernmost state.

Animals in the wild Mingling with humans occurs frequently enough that it is normal in some regions of Alaska and Canada to leave your car doors open so that friends and neighbors might avoid confrontations with dangerous animals.

But it’s a feisty dachshund named Reecey that saves the day in this film, not a car.

We watch a guy trudging through the snow to fetch his mail in the video. He misses a juvenile moose lying in the shadows across the street due to his concentration on the work at hand and the brightness of the sun on the snow.

Fortunately, Reecey was nearby and noticed the danger just in time—and I mean barely in time. The moose begins to attack, and it appears like he will smash the man into the back of a vehicle before the man even realizes it. The moose comes to a halt inches before the footage becomes a tragedy, thanks to Reecey’s lunging barks and the man’s eventual shout of astonishment.

Both the man and the dog flee danger and return to the safety of their house.

Because we have moose in Utah, let’s go through all the scary moose information that camp counselors and park rangers give us in their “scared straight” lectures.

Moose are normally docile but will defend their area forcefully.
There is no worse place in the world to be than between a mother moose and her calf.
Moose can and will trample you to death with no regard for your life.
Moose may grow to be 7 feet tall and weigh up to 1,400 pounds, making them ideal crushing machines.
If you strike a moose with your automobile, your vehicle (and maybe you) will not survive.
