When a Minnesota store employee saw a man who wore boxes on his feet, she did the following…

According to WCCO, a CBS affiliate, a store employee in Minnesota gave her old Jordans to a man after noticing that he had boxes on his feet.

Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis, has a liquor store where Ta Leia Thomas, also known as “Ace,” works. Tom Agnes, the manager of Brooklyn Center Liquor, told WCCO that he returned from his lunch break on Tuesday to find Ace working in her socks.

According to WCCO, security camera footage showed a man searching through a trash can outside the store for boxes that he could fasten to his feet in place of shoes. When Thomas saw the man, she stopped him and gave him her favorite pair of vintage Air Jordans along with one of her own shows.

When Thomas saw the man, she “automatically took my shoes off,” she claimed to WCCO. Thomas told WCCO, “He said nobody would ever give me shoes like that, and I said, “Well, I’m not everybody.”

For the simple reason that “you never know what their problem is or what they are going through,” Thomas claimed that she was “always taught to help others.”

Agnes gave Thomas a new pair of shoes to wear out the rest of the workday and posted about Thomas’s deed of kindness on Facebook, where it has gotten close to a thousand comments.

“These weren’t your typical shoes, either. Since Ace loved the Minnesota Vikings, she gave the man her favorite pair of purple Nike Air Jordans without any hesitation, according to Agnes’ post. “This is a real demonstration of compassion, empathy, and holiday cheer.”

Agnes told WCCO that Thomas raised $450 to replace his shoes with a new pair, but she later learned that Thomas is caring for her mother, who needs a new bed. Agnes claimed he actually gave Thomas the cash so she could buy a bed.
