While bravely chewing on a really hot chili pepper, the boys’ choir sings a Christmas carol

It begins simply enough. When the Herning Boys Choir begins to sing “Oh Come, All Ye Faithful,” their faces flush crimson, and tears fall down their cheeks.

That’s because about 1.25 minutes into the video, each of the lads took out a ghost pepper and ate it. But why would they do such a thing? It was at the request of singer and performer Claus Pilgaard, better known as Chili Klaus.

Klaus is a well-known Danish celebrity who frequently encourages celebrities and artists to eat spicy chili peppers during interviews and concerts. He decided to spice up the traditional Christmas hymn with an extremely spicy ghost pepper because he used to be a choir boy.

The ghost pepper is the “bad boy” of the chili world and one of the hottest, with Scoville heat units ranging from 855,000 to 1,041,427!

The heat of the pepper affects some of the choir boys early. Others, however, fearlessly continue, singing the full song without flinching. It makes for an unusual performance, and you can surely excuse them all for not waiting for applause!

Watch the video below and share it with your friends to see this hilarious performance.
