Will Smith, star of “I Am Legend,” recently celebrated his mother’s birthday. He honored the occasion by uploading a photo of himself with his mother, Caroline Bright, on Instagram. The couple grinned heartily at the camera while wrapping one arm around the other in a close hug.

The actor just wished his mother a happy 86th birthday in the caption. Will has made it a point to express his love for his mother by dedicating a blog post to her each year. The actor tweeted a video of them dancing to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” for her 85th birthday.

Will captioned the image on her final birthday, wishing his “Mom-Mom” a happy birthday and wishing them to “dance [their] way to 100.” Will and Caroline demonstrated their movements in the video by holding hands and bouncing from side to side to the beat of the song.

Will’s admirers replied to each post by remarking how touching it is to watch the actor show such affection for his mother. One viewer remarked on Will and his mother dancing, writing, “Beautiful, precious moments.” Another said that the touching moment reminded them of their own mother:

“That’s the finest feeling in the world; you got me sobbing because my mom is my life, and she’s 80 years old; she’s everything to me.”

Will shared a snapshot of him and Caroline in a passionate hug on May 9, 2021. The image was intended to commemorate Mother’s Day, and the actor captioned it by wishing his mother a beautiful day. Will addressed Caroline as “Mommy” in the post and wished every mother the best.

Willard Smith, his father, and his mother reared him. His mother worked for the Board of Education, while his father served in the military. Will had two younger twins, Harry and Ellen Smith, and an older sister called Pam Smith.

Will moved in with his mother after the divorce, and she did everything she could to make sure her children had everything they needed to succeed in life.

The actor’s mother and grandmother, Helen Bright, were a huge source of inspiration for him when he was growing up. Will credits these two with motivating him to believe in himself and pursue his aspirations. The “Hancock” actor revealed how his mother and grandmother constantly supported him and told him “God is going to make everything ok.”

Helen’s trust in her grandson had a significant impact on his life. Knowing how much she believed in him motivated him to give everything he had. Will was left heartbroken when Helen died in 1998. The actor recalled his grandmother:

“She held me in such high regard that I never wanted to let her down.” “My existence revolved around her and my mom.”

Will’s connection with his father, on the other hand, was far less empowering. The actor revealed that his father was aggressive and “alcoholic,” which made life difficult for the Smith children when they were young. Caroline and Willard dissolved their relationship when Will was 14 years old, after years of putting up with Will’s father.

Will moved in with his mother after the divorce, and she did everything she could to make sure her children had everything they needed to succeed in life. She encouraged her children to learn to play an instrument, and all of the Smith children became competent pianists. Will’s younger brother even started playing the saxophone.

Caroline also made certain that all of her children received an education. Caroline thought that college and education were the keys to success, so every one of the Smith children got the opportunity to attend college. She also “taught him to appreciate women” and helped shape him into the guy he is today.

Will openly recognized his mother for her wonderful parenting and the lasting impact she had on him at the American Music Awards in 2005. He thanked his mother in front of his fans and coworkers for raising him to be the courteous, industrious guy he is.
