A-listers are kicking off Halloween costumes with tributes to classic films, but one celebrity couple’s outfits may have a deeper meaning. Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham dressed up as characters from Shakespeare’s tragically romantic play — you know the one. Fans are guessing that the costume is a reference to the couple’s own rumored family feud between the Peltz-Beckham clan because it’s just too coincidental.
Nicola’s costumes appear to make fun of Nicola’s rumored feud with her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham. On Oct. 26, the star-crossed lovers dressed up as Romeo and Juliet from Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 film adaptation, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. According to party photos published by Page Six, Brooklyn arrived in Romeo’s iconic chainmail and armor, with Nicola on his arm wearing the angel wings the Danes’ Juliet wore. If the costumes were a riff on their own family drama, that would have been pretty clever.
ICYMI, the Peltz-Beckham rumored feud began when Nicola chose a Valentino Haute Couture gown for her wedding instead of a Victoria Beckham design. “I was going to and I really wanted to,” Nicola told Vanity Fair, “but then she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.” That is entirely correct, but it is not the end of the story. According to the Daily Mail, the couple’s wedding appeared to be “all about the Peltz family.” It didn’t seem to bother the Beckhams, as Victoria told Today, “As a mother, seeing my son so happy means so much.” What more could you want? ” To be honest, it must be nice not to be the center of attention for a change when you’re Beckham.

While the family feud appears to be unconfirmed gossip, Brooklyn and Nicola had fun with the concept, bringing to life the iconic rivalry between the Capulets and the Montagues. One thing is certain: No family drama could ever separate these two.
