A family in Michigan overwhelmed with emotion as they have finally welcomed their first baby girl into the family after having 14 boys…

Kateri and Jay Schwandt, both of whom are 45 years old, are proud parents of 14 boys, and they have just just added a new bundle of joy to their family: a newborn girl whom they have called Maggie Jayne!

In light of the fact that Jay and Kateri had come to believe that they would not be blessed with a daughter, their joy at the birth of their new child was almost inconsolable.

According to statements made by Jay to the Detroit Free Press, “this year has been remarkable in so many different ways, for so many different reasons, but Maggie is the best present we could ever dream.”

According to Tyler Schwandt, age 28, who is the eldest of his parents’ children, his parents did not have high hopes of having a girl, particularly after having a string of 14 males in a row.

Because there were no women living in their household, he wasn’t even sure whether there were any pink things in the residence they shared

Tyler has just been engaged to be married and acquired a house about 20 minutes away from the farm that his parents own and operate.

Kateri and Jay go back a very long way together in history. They started dating while they were both freshman students at Gaylord High School and Gaylord St. Mary’s. Both schools are located in Gaylord.

In 1993, before to their enrollment at Ferris State University, they decided to get married, and though, they had a large family, the pair was able to pursue the jobs of their dreams.

Grand Valley State University granted Kateri a master’s degree in social work, which she obtained there.

Jay graduated with a law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University and now operates a land surveying firm.

The Schwandts are used to being the center of attention. In point of fact, as their family has expanded, they have been profiled often in both regional and national news outlets.

They broadcast a program through livestreaming that is now titled “14 Outdoorsmen,” a show that undoubtedly needs a new moniker.
