Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are no longer together. The Oscar winner and her husband announced their divorce in a joint statement posted on Witherspoon’s Instagram page on March 24, just two days before their 12-year wedding anniversary on March 26. “We’d like to share some personal news,” they stated. “After considerable thought and contemplation, we have made the painful choice to divorce.”
The pair reflected on their marriage with nothing but kind comments for one another. “We have had such a fantastic time together and are going ahead with profound love, generosity, and mutual respect for everything we have achieved together,” they stated. The message concluded with a desire for privacy, particularly for Tennessee James, their 10-year-old son. “Our top priority as we move forward is our kid and our whole family,” they stated. “These are never easy and profoundly personal issues. We appreciate everyone’s consideration for our family’s privacy at this time.”
