When Squid Game premiered in September 2021, it quickly became one of the most talked-about series as it is an emotional roller coaster that draws you in very instantly.

As a result, conversation inevitably turns to season 2, and given the show’s somewhat open conclusion and the extraordinary demand for it, you can be confident that it will be released soon as the producer stated: “It’s playing around in my thoughts right now. I’m now in the midst of the planning phase.”

Though, since the project is still in the planning stages and hasn’t even been written yet, it may be some time before shooting on Squid Game 2 can begin.

As a result, it seems improbable that it will be released in 2022, therefore, 2023 is a more plausible date.

The first season of Squid Game consisted of nine episodes, with each episode including six “games” that were played inside those nine episodes. The fans anticipate a comparable number for the next season as well.

Though the conclusion of season 1 clearly left the door open for a second season, it is not yet obvious what the emphasis of a second season would be.

The script writer said in an interview : “I am well aware that there are high expectations for season two of the show. It’s not that I haven’t thought about season two at all; in fact, I have a basic outline for it already.

But I’m always questioning if I can make it even better than season one. I don’t want anyone to be unhappy with the new season, therefore I’ve made some changes.”
