While Kilmer has a terrific relationship with his children, he does not get along with his ex-wife. Kilmer, now 63, agreed to pay $27,500 in child support when the couple split in 2009.
He fell behind on payments, though, and his ex-wife put a lien on one of his homes to guarantee she received the money. This meant he couldn’t sell the property without first alerting her. His 6,000-acre estate in Mexico was the property.

Val observed that he may have taken his work too seriously since he was constantly unhappy when he didn’t win prizes, owing to his love of Oscars and attention.
