According to a chef who works with Chris Hemsworth, he consumes 4,500 calories and 10 meals per day to prepare for his role in Marvel movies

According to his chef, Dan Churchill, Chris Hemsworth consumes up to 4,500 calories daily to prepare for movies like “Thor” and “Extraction.”

According to Churchill, who creates recipes for Hemsworth’s fitness app Centr, the Marvel actor consumes up to 10 meals per day with 450 calories each to bulk up for his roles. He relies on foods like steak, chicken, broccoli, and banana protein shakes.

That’s a lot more food than the majority of people require each day. According to the USDA’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans, men between the ages of 31 and 59 typically need 2,200 to 3,000 calories per day, whereas women in the same age group need between 1,600 and 2,200.

According to Churchill, who spoke to The Daily Mail, “It takes a lot of discipline to stick to Chris’s schedule—he frequently has to sacrifice taste and flavor to get the job done.”

According to Luke Zocchi, Hemsworth’s personal trainer, when preparing for films like “Thor,” Hemsworth consumes 300 grams of protein daily. That is more than twice the daily protein recommendation, according to dietitians.

For some roles, including “Avengers: Endgame,” Hemsworth reportedly became vegan, according to Zocchi.

We were surprised by how well it worked and wanted to see if he could maintain a certain size, according to Zocchi. Hemsworth adhered to the diet for eight weeks, upping his bean intake to help him maintain his muscle mass, but eventually gave up the plan because he missed steak so much and started eating meat again as usual.

Hemsworth has also gone above and beyond to prepare for his roles. Before filming his topless scenes, the actor, according to Zocchi, goes through a dehydration process. He increases his water intake a week in advance and then stops drinking altogether a day and a half before the shoot.

According to Zocchi, “this is by no means a healthy thing to do, and I wouldn’t recommend that anyone else do this.”
