Dwayne said that his relationship with his father, Rocky Johnson, was marked by tough love and endured a number of difficult occurrences between the years of 10 and 15. Regardless, Rocky’s difficult upbringing was the root reason of his behavior against Dwayne.

This was because of how he felt about himself.  The previous tenant was kicked out of the house on Christmas Day, when he was 13 years old and had been a problem there for some time.

The fact that he spent his teenage years living on the streets had an impact on both his capacity to be a responsible parent and his ability to bring up his son Dwayne. As a direct consequence of the actor’s turbulent upbringing, the actor’s family moved quite a bit during his childhood.

By the time Dwayne reached 13, he had already called thirteen different places home.

This coincided with the age at which his father was required to leave the home. In addition to growing up without a father, Rocky spent his childhood years living on the streets of a small community in Nova Scotia.

The struggle of making ends meet was also experienced by Dwayne’s parents. When they were forcefully transported from the island in Honolulu, Hawaii, where they had previously resided, he was just 14 years old at the time.

The actor saw his mother and other members of his family start sobbing as a result of the eviction notice.

After getting kicked out of his apartment, Dwayne was forced to stay in a hotel outside of Nashville, where he was forced to steal steaks from the many grocery stores in the area. In spite of this, the situation of the family was so bad that he would not even be able to cook the meat that had been taken.

Dwayne learned the value of self-discipline and to appreciate the benefits of putting in long hours thanks to Rocky’s parenting style, which he referred to as “tough love.”

In March of 2019, Dwayne revealed to his followers on Instagram that he was purchasing a home for his father.

In a video that he uploaded on his Instagram account, the actor discussed the conversation that he had just had with his father. The actor’s background and upbringing were shaped in some way by Rocky, and he wanted to express his gratitude for the movie’s contribution.

By giving his father a call, Dwyane let him know that he planned to buy him a house no matter where in the world he decided to settle down. When Rocky found out what Dwayne intended to do for him, he was speechless and unable to respond in any manner. Because his son’s action was so genuine and out of the blue, the former felt a bit nervous about the whole situation.

“He was searching for the appropriate words. Because no one has ever called me in the past to tell me that they are going to purchase me a home, the fact that it is you, my son, makes me feel even more proud of you and increases the amount of love that I have for you.

That was never how my paternal grandfather spoke with us. It was something that both my mind and my emotions were at ease with.”

On January 16, 2020, it was reported that WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson has passed away at the age of 75.

Dwayne paid tribute to his father by publishing an internet article, where he shared an old Rocky wrestling tape on his website and credited Rocky with being the first athlete of color to break through boundaries and become a wrestling icon.

He also said that he felt grateful for the loving but disciplined upbringing that he had been given.
